Legendary drummer Eric Singer (KISS, Alice Cooper) has been very generous to donate his time
to help the Children of Low Income in Los Angeles through the Literacy First Youth Poetry
Contest. The contest is for aspiring young poets between the ages of 8-17 there will be 3
categories: 3rd graders to 5th graders; 6 graders to 8th graders; 9th graders to 12th
graders. The compositions, which may be in song, rap, or traditional format, must be about
world peace, how to better the environment, how to be better our community, and basically
anything to better the world we live in. They may be in song format, Rap format, and
traditional poetry format of any kind.  The contest will run thru October 15th 2008.
Contestants must live in the Los Angeles spa #3 area. Wnner’s will be announced at the Sylvan
Reception which will be held on November 15, 2008.  Winners will read their poems and receive
their prizes ranging from a $50 gift certificate from Macy's, two tickets to Disney Land, and
The Grand Prize which is lunch with Singer.
