Alice Cooper... ya gotta love 'im to death!!
Were it not for The Coop... yeah, I woulda
probably gotten into rock and roll, but not
with such a passion.  He presented the
perfect blend of music and screenplay
that made the whole madhouse so appealing.
Read what I had to say in the
Charleston (WV) Gazette-Mail
about Alice's fantastic book,
"Golf Monster"
As for the ever-present supply of Budweiser... well, there too, let's not
deny the inevitable; but, an impressionable young lad like myself (back
in 1977) had to have a role model.  For good or ill, Alice fit the bill.
There are many things to admire
about Alice.  There are the obvious
elements as far as Coop the Rock
God goes.  Perhaps, as Alice and I
both grow older, the more "human"
factors come into focus.  For
instance, can you believe that he
and Sheryl have been married for
over 30 years?  It seems that,
nowadays, celebrity couples go
running for divorce court at the
sign of the first hangnail.  These
two have proven, amidst times
thick and thin, there is a true
meaning behind the whole vows
thing and "through sickness and
health."
No More Mr.
Nice Guy,
YEAH... RIGHT!!!

Now, that's
more like it!!

Aren't rock stars supposed to be arrogant, self-centered
buttheads?  I can't count on all of my fingers and toes the times
that I've either read about or seen on TV Alice out there hitting
the bricks for charitable causes.  You've gotta check out Alice's
Solid Rock Foundation which does Christian outreach for teens and
children.  Give it a look at
www.alicecoopersolidrock.com... it's
quiet amazing!!!  You can also find info on Coop's golf charity
events at
www.alicegolf.com.
Alice, for all that you've done and will do... This Diet Coke's for you!!  Rock on!!!
And then there's the Cooper'sTown restaurant empire.  The
Cleveland eatery is no longer, but I'll tell ya that was a class joint
with the best grub I've ever chowed down on anywhere.  And the
service was top-notch... not just a buncha college kids scraping up
party funds.  I've gotta make it out to Phoenix... but, until I can,
I'll catch up with the latest at
http://www.alicecooperstown.com.
Click the pic for my review
of Alice's "Along Came a
Spider" which he calls "A
dark and menacing album
for dark and menacing
times."
